• Website design, user interface, and platform architecture
• Written content, descriptions, and educational text

What you MAY do (Subscriber Licence):

• Download and print worksheets for personal, household use only
• Use STARIA content to educate your own children in a home setting
• Share screenshots of your child's progress on social media with credit to STARIA

What you may NOT do:

• Reproduce, copy, or redistribute any STARIA content commercially
• Share login credentials or content with non-subscribers
• Sell, sublicense, or monetise any STARIA materials
• Remove copyright notices from any downloaded materials
• Use STARIA content in group classes, daycare centres, or schools without a commercial licence
• Upload STARIA content to third-party platforms (YouTube, Pinterest, etc.)

Violations of this copyright licence may result in immediate termination of your subscription and legal action under the Copyright Act.

Trademark

The name STARIA, the STARIA logo (⭐), and the tagline "Where Little Stars Begin to Shine" are trademarks of STARIA (Pty) Ltd, registered with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) of South Africa. Unauthorised use is prohibited.

📄 2. Terms of Service

By creating a STARIA account or accessing any STARIA content, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms form a binding legal agreement between you ("Subscriber") and STARIA (Pty) Ltd ("STARIA", "we", "us").

2.1 Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to create a STARIA account. STARIA is intended for use by parents and legal guardians homeschooling their own children aged 6 months to 5 years.

2.2 Account Responsibility

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• One subscription covers one household only
• You may not share your account with people outside your household
• You are responsible for all activity under your account

2.3 Content Accuracy

STARIA makes every effort to ensure curriculum content is developmentally appropriate and educationally sound. However, STARIA does not replace professional medical, therapeutic, or educational assessment. Always consult a qualified professional if you have concerns about your child's development.

2.4 Termination

STARIA reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to access STARIA content ceases immediately.

🔒 3. Privacy Policy

STARIA is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) 4 of 2013 of South Africa.

3.1 What We Collect

• Parent/guardian name and email address
• Child's first name and age range (no surnames or ID numbers)
• Province (for regional content customisation)
• Payment information (processed securely — we do not store full card details)
• Platform usage data (lessons viewed, progress, session duration)

3.2 How We Use Your Data

• To provide and personalise your STARIA experience
• To process your monthly subscription payment
• To track your child's learning progress and milestones
• To send important service notifications (never spam)
• To improve our curriculum and platform

3.3 We Will NEVER

• Sell your personal data to third parties
• Share your child's data with advertisers
• Use your data for purposes beyond STARIA's services without consent
• Store payment card numbers on our servers

3.4 Your POPIA Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 21 business days as required by POPIA.

💳 4. Subscription & Refund Policy

• Subscriptions are billed monthly from R 299 (Starter), R 599 (Family), or R 999 (Premium) per month
• You may cancel at any time. Access continues until the end of your paid billing period
• No refunds are issued for partial months
• If you experience a technical issue preventing access, contact support within 7 days for a resolution or credit
• STARIA reserves the right to change pricing with 30 days' written notice to subscribers

To cancel your subscription, go to Billing → Manage Plan → Cancel Subscription, or email [email protected].

✅ 5. Acceptable Use Policy

When using the STARIA Community Forum and platform, you agree not to:

• Post harmful, offensive, or discriminatory content
• Share personal information of minors (other than your own child, in your own account)
• Impersonate STARIA staff or other users
• Promote competing services within the STARIA community
• Attempt to hack, scrape, or disrupt the platform

STARIA moderates the Community Forum and reserves the right to remove content or accounts that violate this policy.

⚠️ 6. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

STARIA's curriculum is designed to support early childhood development in a home setting. It is not a substitute for formal schooling, professional assessment, or medical advice.

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, STARIA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

STARIA's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 3 months preceding the claim.
